The Melody

The Melody
by: Andrew Tran

My soul is the piano, my words are the keys.
Together it composes songs to choir.
What is a piano, without the player
It's like a soul, without a desire.

It’s the melody of my heart
Of which you are the key, minor or sharp
The part that makes my vocals
A melody of intrinsic value

Every verse, dedicated to your soul
Every line, dedicated to that which makes me whole

It doesn’t even have to rhyme all the time
For the song within my spirit to climb
To levels that your mind can receive

I do believe, without a shadow of a doubt
That you,

My Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit,

Are the Melody of my lifetime

oh thats sick! i like your poem andrew. My first impression after the first few verses, was that your poem might be a little corny. it actually wasnt. I liked how you related the piano to the melody in your heart, because it dropped hints of who you were comparing yourself to. the allusion is orpheus, and the last three lines are relating to his love for Eurydice... NICE.

Wow! awsome poem Andrew.
from the very start your poem got very intense, and flowed niceily throughout.

do believe, without a shadow of a doubt
That you,

My Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit,

Are the Melody of my lifetime.

I really liked the ending of your poem. It really showed your love and passion for Eurydice, and most of all the Piano.
Well done!

HI Andrew,

Lyrical job on your poem :) Looks like your teammates liked it too.

What I'd like to see is a bit more of the allusion...at times, the poem seems more like a metaphor--you are the piano or you are the melody--what you're doing in the allusion poem is comparing yourself to Orpheus so you could emphasize that a bit more.
